Anthropic Claude Exam Logistics, Scheduling & Rules

Essential checklist and practical tips for scheduling your exam, completing Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring, navigating exam interface features, and understanding retake rules.

1. How to Schedule Your Exam

Registration is handled through the Anthropic Partner Academy portal. From there, you will be redirected to the Pearson VUE exam scheduling engine.

You have two testing delivery options:

  • OnVUE Online Proctored Exam: Take the exam from your home or office on your own computer with live webcam proctoring.
  • In-Person Testing Center: Sit for the exam at an authorized Pearson VUE physical testing facility.

2. OnVUE Online Proctoring Checklist

If testing from home or office via OnVUE, ensure you prepare the testing environment prior to check-in:

  • Perform System Test in Advance: Run Pearson VUE's automated microphone, webcam, and internet speed test on the exact machine you will use on exam day.
  • Single Monitor Only: Disconnect all external monitors and docking station displays. Dual monitor setups are strictly prohibited.
  • Clean, Clear Desk: No papers, books, pens, sticky notes, or secondary phones/tablets within arm's reach. You will be required to upload 4 photos of your room during check-in.
  • Valid Government Photo ID: Passport, national ID card, or driver's license with matching name spelling.
  • Privacy: You must be in a private, walled room with no other people entering during the 120-minute session.

3. Pearson VUE Exam Interface Features

1. Strikeout Option

Right-click or click the strikeout icon at the end of each answer option to visibly cross out choices you have eliminated. This significantly speeds up decision-making when narrowing down tricky scenario answers.

2. Flag for Review

Click the "Flag for Review" button in the upper corner on questions you are uncertain about. At the end of the exam, you can review all flagged items before final submission.

3. No Negative Marking

There is zero penalty for incorrect answers. Never leave any question unanswered before the 120-minute timer expires.

4. Time Pacing Strategies

With 120 minutes allocated across 53 to 63 questions, you have approximately 1 minute and 50 seconds per question.

  • CCAO-F & CCDV-F: Timing is generally comfortable. Move steadily, answering straightforward questions quickly to bank time for longer code or scenario questions.
  • CCAR-F Scenario Pacing: CCAR-F has 4 distinct scenario blocks (15 questions each). Strategy: Read the specific question at the bottom first, identify what architectural constraint is being tested, and then skim the scenario text specifically for those parameters.

5. Retake Policy & Credential Validity

  • Retake Policy: If you do not pass on your first attempt, Anthropic requires a mandatory waiting period (typically 14 days) before retaking the same exam to allow time for study and review. Each retake requires paying the standard exam registration fee.
  • Score Report: You will receive an immediate preliminary Pass/Fail notification on screen upon submission, followed by a formal score report with domain-by-domain proficiency bars within 24 to 48 hours.
  • Credential Validity: Anthropic Claude certifications are valid for 12 months from the date earned, reflecting the rapid pace of frontier AI model and feature updates.

6. Prepare with Realistic Timed Practice

Familiarizing yourself with full 120-minute timed mock exams builds stamina and prevents exam day fatigue.
